Minutiae algorithm – UPEK algorithms extract unique features called “minutiae” from the fingerprint image. Minutia-based matching preserves privacy and minimizes the information that must be stored or transmitted. It is not possible to recreate a fingerprint from the minutia data.

The TouchStrip Fingerprint Sensor (TCS4) is a compact, rugged, low power swipe sensor ideal for mobile devices such as cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players and portable gaming devices. In addition to offering reliable authentication, the TCS4 can also be used as a menu navigation device and game controller. UPEK offers full support for integration of required firmware to create a complete, high-performance biometric system.
