UPEK® Elects Bill Harris to its Board of Directors

Emeryville, Calif. – May 9, 2007 – UPEK®, Inc., the world’s leading brand of fingerprint authentication security solutions, today announced that Bill Harris has been elected to its board of directors.

Harris brings a distinguished career as a successful entrepreneur and industry veteran to his role on the UPEK board of directors.  Mr. Harris served as CEO of PayPal from 1999 through 2000, EVP and then CEO of Intuit from 1994 through 1999, and president of ChipSoft from 1991 through 1993. Mr. Harris also served on the board of RSA Security and Macromedia, prior to their acquisition by other companies.  In addition, he currently serves on the board of EarthLink, Visual Sciences, and Global Cash Access, as well as several private companies.  He is a private investor in several early-stage technology companies in the fields of financial services and electronic security.  Mr. Harris holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
