BERKELEY, Calif. – September 23, 2005 – UPEK®, Inc., the leading supplier of fingerprint security solutions, today announced that Lenovo is incorporating UPEK’s TouchStrip™ fingerprint authentication solution in select Lenovo ThinkPad Z60m and Z60t notebooks targeting the small and medium business (SMB) market. The ThinkPad Z60m and Z60t notebooks with integrated fingerprint reader from UPEK will enable SMB users to protect access to files, Windows®, websites and local and network applications with the swipe of a finger both in the workplace and at home. The ThinkPad notebooks also incorporate UPEK’s pre-boot authentication hardware for protection during power-on of the notebook platform, designed to extend security beyond the OS level.
