EMERYVILLE, CA – February 23, 2006 – UPEK®, Inc., the leading brand of biometric fingerprint security solutions, today announced that Robert Blau has joined the company as vice president of development. Blau brings more than 18 years of engineering and management experience to UPEK, where he will lead all hardware and software content development for the company. Blau was most recently vice president of software engineering at Nuance Communications and prior to that spent eleven years at Hewlett-Packard. Blau is a graduate of the California State University at Chico, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
